Steve LaBate, Director of Publicity, Baby Robot Media
Atlanta-based publicist, writer and musician Steve L. was associate editor at award-winning music and entertainment magazine Paste, from 2003-2010. In his decade-long career as a music journalist, he has interviewed hundreds of artists including The Strokes, OutKast, George Carlin, The Replacements, Public Enemy and Kevin Bacon. He also worked as a concert promoter, band manager, music supervisor and film producer before starting publicity firm Baby Robot Media in 2012. He remains a senior contributing writer at both Paste and Georgia Music.
Dasha Ware, Founder & Principal, Rising Star Group LLC
A record executive, marketing and branding strategist in the entertainment and music industries, Dasha Ware founded talent development agency The Rising Star Group, LLC. She specializes in providing brand building opportunities and increasing digital value for creatives, executing digital sales through social brand management, content surfacing, digital promotions, distribution, and digital editorial placement.
With 20 years in entertainment, attending Fullsail University and Art Institute of Atlanta, Dasha is able to offer the total package to her clients. Julie Kessler Roach, Board Member, NARIP Atlanta
Julie Kessler Roach received her Juris Doctor degree from Emory
University School
of Law, and graduated with a certificate in Transactional Law and Skills.
She graduated* magna cum laude* from the University of Georgia with a B.A.
in Political Science and a minor in Music and Philosophy. She is admitted
to practice law in the State of Georgia.
Julie has worked with ASCAP, at The Coca-Cola Company, and with several solo
practitioners. She was also on the executive board for Emory’s Sports and
Entertainment Law Society. Julie is an active member of the National
Association of Record Industry Professionals board and the planning
committee for the Atlanta Bar’s annual LawJam as well as a member of the
American Bar Association and State Bar of Georgia Entertainment and Sports
Law sections. Julie currently serves as a post-graduate Emory Law Fellow
and as Director of Volunteer Services for Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (
www.glarts.org). Julie has played alto saxophone for over 15 years and
works for the Georgia Theatre, a famous music venue in Athens, Georgia. She
looks forward to practicing law to support artists and creatives in the
advancement of their careers, and to ensure that their works are respected
