James Andrews, Digital Communications / Content Strategist, CNN Contributor, Blogger, Author, Speaker, DJ, Founder of SocialPeople.tv, Storyteller

James Andrews spends his time at the epicenter of where digital content, conversations and culture converge. As founder of Social People he advises clients on how to tell their stories and engage their audiences via the use of online/mobile tools and the social Web. Dividing his time between his Atlanta and LA offices, Andrews’ clients span media/entertainment (The Grammys, LionsGate) auto (Lexus), Healthcare (The California Endowment) and celebrity (Jane Fonda). He is a regular featured expert on CNN who taps him to discuss social media and digital culture, and he maintains a blog column at Fast Company. Formerly a marketing executive at Columbia Records who made a few people famous, he was also a part of a dot-com start-up called SoulPurpose/UBO that raised $40 million dollars and employed the best and brightest in NYC. For :30 seconds he ran Marc Ecko’s brand marketing at Ecko Unlimited and taught him everything he knows about video gaming. Before starting Social People he ran a social media practice at Ketchum for two years. He left to launch EVERYWHERE, his previous social media agency startup known for the Guinness World Record created for #BeatCancer. He spends his free time with his wife and kids, collecting music and sneakers, DJing and sleeping. He grew up in the “Vatican City” of Silicon Valley (Palo Alto, CA) long before it was popular and when the Facebook founders were in elementary school. Ian Burke, Burke Stone Management

There are very few individuals left in the world of music publishing who boast the resume of Ian Burke. The son of a musician first got his feet wet some 20 years ago while doing road work for a local Atlanta band. “That’s when I decided I wanted to make it a career in Atlanta,” Burke says. Since then he has been involved with the launch of some of the city’s most established acts. The birth of Burke’s career was as the South East Director of A&R, for Elektra Records (part of the WEA Corp.), where he focused on music quality over song quantity. Burke’s stint at Elektra included signing the teen R&B group Mista, which featured a young Bobby Valentino, and super producer and current chart-topping Akon. While there, he also helped introduce the world to one of Atlanta’s signature genres, “Bass Music,” by picking up the independent single, “Bankhead Bounce,” by Diamond & D-Rock (half of the crunk duo, the Ying-Yang twins). Other accomplishments during his tenure there included, spearheading special events such as the Church Fire Benefit Concert in Atlanta, which aided in the restoration of churches burned throughout the south. The concert featured Mista, Akon, Keith Sweat, Silk, Michael Speaks, Goodie Mob and Kut Klose and raised over $50,000.00 in donations. After his tenure at Elektra, Burke accepted the position of Senior Director of Creative Affairs for ASCAP (American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers) in Atlanta, where he set out to introduce new sounds and talent from the south. Some of the projects he put his stamp on, as an independent manager and A&R consultant, included Arrested Development (Chrysalis/EMI), TLC and Outkast (LaFace/Arista), Kris- Kross (Ruff House/Columbia), and Xscape (SoSoDef). With nearly two decades of experience, Burke left ASCAP to launch several independent ventures. Continuing his passion for discovering, developing and creating opportunities for established and up and coming artists, Burke launched Launch Pad Records, LLC, a consulting and artist development firm. Presently, Burke’s expanding his publishing experience to include aspiring screenwriters, producers and directors with Pelham Picture House Projects.


Russell R. Sauvé, E-Commerce and Social Media Manager, The Fox Theatre

Russell Sauvé is the E-Commerce and Social Media Manager for the Fox Theatre where he guides all content creation and publishing to various static and interactive platforms. Prior to joining the Fox, Russ was the Event Services Manager for The Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, Georgia, and Event Coordinator and Theatre Manager for The Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. In his spare time Russ enjoys spending time with friends, his wife Ellen, and their 2 year old daughter Tess, who will one day be an astronaut, President of the United States, and baseball’s 1st female Cy Young award winner.


Samantha Parvin, NARIP Atlanta Board Member (moderator)

Sam began her music industry career planning, promoting, implementing and fundraising for music-based events in Charleston, SC. After a stint at a music festival promotions company and another at a booking agency, Sam landed a job as Doppler Studios’ Radio Traffic Manager. She has since developed a public relations program at Atlanta’s premier audio services facility and represents the 40-year-old studio’s already stellar reputation. As a fervent networker and devout believer in good old-fashioned honesty and hard work, Samantha employs her learned PR skills in her own personal branding initiatives. She is a founding board member for NARIP Atlanta and former president of music business professionals organization, the 7:30 Club.
