Findley-SonnySONNY FINDLEY, A&R and Technology, ONErpm

Born in Mobile Alabama, Sonny started his music career as a radio DJ on urban station WYOK-FM. In 1998, he released the first independent rap record in South Alabama to receive extensive distribution at retail. He decided to move behind the scenes and pursue a career in music business, doing marketing and Web site development for artists and labels. Findley is a guitarist, producer and master engineer, was the in-house engineer for Oscar winning super group Three-6-Mafia and his productions can be found on many nationally released albums. Sonny also worked along side industry veteran Wendy Day and Select-O-Hits Music Distribution in which he aided in digital as well as physical merchandising/branding for various artists. Findley is YouTube certified for rights management API and is a self-taught computer programmer. Sonny joined Average Joe’s Entertainment Group in Nashville as the companies Chief Technology Officer (CTO) until 2016. Continuing his strong passion for independent music, today Findley is at ONErpm, a leading world-wide competitor in digital music distribution. Findley is involved in many different capacities of the business, juggling his day-to-day between creating new technologies and working with artists and labels as an A&R. 

Geoff-HallidayGEOFF HALLIDAY, Director of Digital Marketing and Strategy, Red Light Management ** JUST ADDED**

Hailing from Philadelphia, Geoff began his career in music as a DJ for Princeton University’s WPRB station before making the move to Los Angeles in 2007. Upon arriving on the west coast Geoff spent a year completing his studies and landed a job at BFM Digital working as a technical director and ingestion specialist. During the ensuing three years his project Hands was signed to indie label Kill Rock Stars and they toured the United States and Europe extensively before calling it a day in 2016. In January 2016 he took up a position at DashGo as Director of Promotions focused on the streaming services and adding extra visibility to artists through store promotions, play-listing and various other opportunities. That brings us to today: Geoff is the Director of Digital Marketing and Strategy for Red Light Management. Additionally he manages rising producer & film composer Theo Karon (Foxygen, Mavis Staples, Health & Beauty).


Scates-CappCAPPRICCIEO M. SCATES, President & CEO, Mytrell Records, NARIP Board Member

Cappriccieo M. Scates is President/CEO of Mytrell Records, distributed by INgrooves-Fontana Universal, and an adjunct professor at SAE Institute in Atlanta. As President/CEO of Mytrell, his day-to-day responsibilities cover a range of label duties and functions that include contract negotiations, product placement, distribution, marketing, artist relations, label services, etc. Prior to forming Mytrell, he held positions as the General Manager at Arrow/Universal Records, Senior Director of Writer/Publisher Relations for SESAC, Director of Operations at PM Music Group and Director of National Radio Promotions for Ruffhouse/Columbia Records.  While at Arrow, his direct signings included Stellar and Grammy Award winners Kim Burrell and Ann Nesby. He is credited with the creation of a new music art form called S.E.R.M.O.N.S. (Spiritually Empowering Recorded Music Over Niche Sermons), taking the sermons of world renowned spiritual leader Dr. Creflo Dollar and putting them to music. S.E.R.M.O.N.S. Vol 1 reached #16 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart. Within a year of his leadership, Mr. Scates established distribution for Arrow throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bahrain and Singapore.  During his tenure at SESAC, he signed 2010-2014 SESAC Songwriter of the Year Rico Love, Day 26, RichGirl, Bone Crusher, Jacob Latimore, Q Parker of 112, Nikeshia Briscoe, Jay Fenix, BXC, Atozzio Towns, Eric Sire, Miykal Snoody, Nas Star, Travis Greene, Jamie Grace, Platinum Brothers and London. Prior to SESAC, he served as Director of Operations for PM Music Group where he represented songwriters whose credits included Michael Jackson, Charlie Wilson and Beyonce. Further, he also spent time as Director of National Radio Promotions for Ruffhouse/Columbia Records and has been responsible for promoting the careers of artists such as: Fugees, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men.   He is author of 10 Steps to Successfully Managing Recording Artists which was published in October 2004 and co-author of M.Y. Music M.Y. Business (Manage Your Music Mind Your Business). He is on the Board of the Atlanta Chapter for the National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP), the Board of the proposed Backstage Entertainment Federal Credit Union and is a former member of the Atlanta Chapter Board of Governors for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) and a former President and Vice President of the Georgia Music Industry Association. Adding a political twist to his resume, Mr. Scates is also a former member of The Georgia Music Industry Task Force, which served to consult former Georgia Governor Sunny Purdue on the economic impact of music, film and entertainment during his last term in office.  In 2011, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed presented Mr. Scates with the Phoenix Award, which replaced the “Key to the City” that was awarded by previous Mayor’s. Mr. Scates also received a Proclamation from the Atlanta City Council proclaiming September 22, 2011 as “CAPPRICCIEO SCATES DAY.”  Mr. Scates holds a Masters in Business Administration from Averett University where he was selected to the National Dean’s List for academic excellence. In April 2016, Mr. Scates received a Doctorate of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) from CICA- International University and Seminary and was awarded an Ambassadorial Appointment in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, (ECOSOC). This is the highest level of accreditation that is awarded internationally to all designates.  Further, Ambassador Scates proudly served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army (6 years) and U.S. Army National Guard (14 years) where he retired in July 2013 after completing 20 years of service.  Ambassador Scates prides himself on his personal slogan, “Your floor is someone else’s ceiling. Always be appreciative for where you are, but never stop trying to reach the next floor.”
