Scott McDaniel is our special guest at NARIP’s next Music Supervisor Session in Los Angeles. McDaniel selects, licenses and places music for NBCUniversal, Inc. Limited enrollment of 16 people per session guarantees face-time, registrants get brief of supervisor’s CURRENT music needs, a chance to pitch plus immediate feedback. In NARIP’s intimate session, you get to meet and pitch him for current opportunities.
ABOUT SCOTT MCDANIEL
Scott is a music supervisor at NBC Universal TV where he handles creative for all network and cable promos, and supports supervision on the network’s shows. Prior to this he was Director of Music at FUEL TV, where he music supervised the network’s slate of original and licensed programming as well as live event coverage and special features. FUEL TV is a division of Fox Sports where Scott assisted affiliate stations with their on-air promotions. Prior to this, he contributed to pioneering the connection between music and gaming as Senior Music Supervisor at Activision Blizzard. Here he was awarded Videogame Music Supervisor of the Year in 2010 by his peers in the Guild of Music Supervisors. He secured opportunities to expand Activision’s alliances with artists, managers, record labels, music publishers, talent agencies and composers within videogame franchises such as Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, Spider-Man and James Bond – whether selecting songs and shaping music direction, negotiating license terms, placing music personalities into games, supervising original song creation and recordings, compiling and releasing soundtracks or booking talent for appearances, interviews and live performances. Scott worked on a variety of projects of all budget sizes to deliver award winning soundtracks and drive collaborations with artists such as Metallica, Daft Punk, Taylor Swift, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, Deadmau5, RZA, Pharrell Williams, Sex Pistols and more. Scott is an LA native and a music obsessive intent on regularly discovering new music.
