Eric Newcomer
Board Member, NARIP Atlanta
Born in the small Western Maryland town of Cumberland, Eric was exposed to music at an early age from his grandfather gathering with friends for jam sessions on the front porch to his mother performing in a band. He developed an appreciation for the business side, starting his journey to find, develop and foster emerging artists. Now in Atlanta, Georgia for 23+ years he is entrenched in the entertainment community as a member of The Recording Academy’s Atlanta Chapter, as well as the Georgia Music Partners and sits on Board for the National Association for Record Industry Professionals. A graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta’s Music Business Institute. Eric has worked with production companies on events including concerts for Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Puff Daddy (at the time), George Strait, Alan Jackson, Smashing Pumpkins, Seether, Puddle of Mud, the Eagles, the Rolling Stones Steel Wheel Tour, as well as Music Midtown where he worked on stage with Sheryl Crow, Bob Dylan, Godsmack, Evanescence, Shinedown, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Cowboy Mouth and others. He then designed the Downtown Sounds LIVE! concert series and is ready to launch the second year in association with a few key partnerships. His involvement in film and television has garnered him opportunities to perform in Livin’ Large, The Rose and The Jackal, Glory, Drop Dead Diva, and What To Expect When Expecting. Set up for distribution and several touring situations with established national artists through CAA, Eric is constantly on the lookout for committed, focused talent. His passions don’t stop there. He is very passionate about OUR Earth and the way we treat it. He is developing a plan to include a multi-city tour to empower and entertain. The tour will educate young and old on the importance of being environmentally conscious, how to live healthy and make a difference.
