Is your music getting to decision-makers - people who can say YES and write a check?

At NARIP’s intimate sessions, you get to meet music buyers including music supervisors, synch agents, music producers, music editors and "Preditors" (Producer / Writer / Editors), and pitch for current placement opportunities, representation and projects, and get immediate feedback.

BACKGROUND

Since 2011, NARIP Music Supervisor Pitch Sessions have secured over 1,000 placements in blockbuster films, hit television series, global promotion and advertising campaigns, and major studio trailers for NARIP members. Since inception of NARIP's Synch Agent Pitch Sessions in 2018, 15 NARIP members have signed representation or music publishing deals as a direct result. Other outcomes include collaborations, co-writing, producing and commissioned work.

WHY DO NARIP PITCH SESSIONS CONTINUE TO YIELD SUCH REMARKABLE RESULTS?

WHAT TO EXPECT AT A NARIP PITCH SESSION:

PREPARATION IS KEY

NARIP Pitch Sessions are limited to an enrollment of just 16 people. About one week prior to NARIP’s Session, all registrants will get a brief of the guest's then-CURRENT music needs. Each registrant will have a chance to pitch in response to the music briefs provided and get immediate feedback to music pitched. Each participant must submit 6 songs (MP3s only please) 36 hours prior to NARIP’s Pitch Session. Please note that due to time constraints you will only be able to pitch your TOP 3 songs for consideration and immediate feedback (more songs, if time permits). This process takes the mystery out of why a piece of music does or doesn’t fit. On-the-spot feedback enables registrants to re-work tracks and re-submit, which creates a much higher probability to get them picked up or licensed (choose well!).

If you do not have music that matches the current needs of the guest, fear not! You can still attend and present the top three songs in your catalog. Make sure the songs are unique and captivating. This is helpful because a music buyer's needs change constantly and you want your music to make an impression. To optimize impact of music you pitch at NARIP’s Session, we highly recommend that you target the briefs which you will get one week prior to the Session.

In addition to pitching for current opportunities, NARIP's guest producer will consider music pitched for collaboration, signing to his label Hundred Up (in the case of Harvey Mason, Jr.), producing and co-producing.

Good luck and see you there!

ABOUT CHAD MALLAM

Chad Mallam is an internationally recognized television executive with 20 years of top-tier experience at Hollywood’s biggest studios. As a creative leader at ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates, Chad’s innovations in consumer connection have received some of the industry’s highest honors.

His use of music has helped him achieve consistently high ratings, grow audiences and sell programming. Currently a “Preditor” (Producer / Writer / Editor) at NBC Entertainment Marketing, he writes, produces, edits and places music in prime-time marketing materials for the network and affiliated partners. Along with a department of 20 others, the entertainment marketing team sources and places music for thousands of promotional spots per week for the entire network including for America’s Got Talent, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, The Blacklist, World of Dance, Ellen’s Game of Games, special projects and up-fronts. “I LOVE music,” he says, “which gives you an emotional connection that you can't describe or put in a deck. When you find that song and make that connection, it just works, then you see people crying and their lives changing on TV. Music drives these spots home and makes them so successful.” While working on LOST, Chad developed the groundbreaking Web series ‘LOST Untangled,’ generating over 100 million views and $500,000 in sponsorships. With a Henson puppet and storage locker on the Prospect Studio lot, he single-handedly wrote, produced, directed and edited the weekly series which quickly became the most successful short-form content in ABC’s history. As Vice President of OnAir and Design at the Game Show Network, Chad continued breaking industry records with The American Bible Challenge, the most successful premier in 30 years (done without any show footage). With double-digit growth across all demos and 20 million new viewers, Chad grew the Game Show Network into a marketing powerhouse, making 2013 the Most Watched Year and 2014 the Most Watched Year Ever with prime-time ratings at 10-year highs. Chad’s passion for branding extends into the arts with online marketing and e-commerce. His gallery storefront uses automation, bots and augmented reality to drive sales. Prints are sold, framed and delivered by third party vendors connected to uncartoonist.com - what began as an experiment is now a revenue-generating brand. An entrepreneur, technologist and marketing expert, Chad’s skill set gives him a competitive advantage in any project with which he’s involved.  TESTIMONIALS
