Corey has been pioneering digital music strategies for 12 years using everything from ListServs and forums to social networks and MMORPGs. She got her music industry start at What Are Records? where she leveraged online (digital) street teams by adapting very new online tools, increasing sales and broadening fan bases for Frank Black, Figurine, Stephen Lynch, Maceo Parker, The Samples, innocence mission and many others. By 2003 Corey was Director of Online Marketing and A&R at What Are Records and published the label?s first online music sampler as a podcast. In addition, Corey built W.A.R.??s digital strategy, helping the label became one of the first independent record labels to sign a direct deal with Apple’s iTunes Music Store. Corey worked with Razor & Tie on digital marketing for Stephen Lynch’s comedy DVD, for which she earned a gold DVD presented by Razor & Tie. She moved to San Francisco in 2005 to work at IODA where she helped create and market Promonet and PromonetPro, running campaigns for Ambulance LTD, The Black Angels, Tee Pee Records, and others before leading marketing efforts as VP of Marketing at digital distributor reapandsow. Corey recently founded Not Shocking, a consulting firm for artists, labels, promoters and mangers. Launching just three months ago, clients include Opus Music Ventures, Luce, Inu, Charlie Hunter and Rob Cantrell. The original concept of the engineer, the ?ingeniator?, is an artisan who delivers solutions by approaching problems with creativity and ingenuity. Matthew Adams Wettergreen applies this concept in both engineering and art as a researcher, educator, and community strategist. In 2008, Matthew Wettergreen and Ned Dodington founded Caroline Collective, a co-working space in Houston, TX, that fosters community, collaboration, and creativity across artistic and technological disciplines. Caroline Collective?s programming motivates and enhances the creative professional community by exploring sustainable models, such as user-generated conferences, social media networking, and peer-to-peer education. Dr. Wettergreen?s experience as a community strategist includes working in the art and music communities in Houston and Chicago to improve collaboration, communication and share resources. Since 2001 Wettergreen has been a DJ at KTRU 91.7fm, co-hosts a live events show called ?The Revelry Report,? and produces national events combining music, art and film. Having recently completed his PhD in Bioengineering at Rice University with a specialization in Biomechanics and Computer Aided Tissue Engineering, his scientific research experience includes work in computational and experimental biomechanics, cellular solids, rapid prototyping and imaging modalities. Get a music marketing plan started in one session. Boost the effectiveness of the plan you already have. A great marketing plan doesn’t have to be complicated. A good one can be just one page long. Spreadsheets, graphs and numbers are not necessary.

Steve Gordon is an entertainment attorney and consultant based in New York City specializing in the production, distribution and financing of music, television, documentaries, feature films, and digital entertainment projects.
