Jill Chambers, Lobbyist

Jill is a lobbyist in the entertainment industry with a focus on local zoning and land use matters. As a former member of the Georgia House of Representatives, she has experience with state, county and city governmental matters in the metro Atlanta region.


Mala Sharma, Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee and Consultant for Georgia Music Partners

With nearly 25 years in the music and recording industry, Mala Sharma has collaborated on some of the most successful records of our time. Her work with GRAMMY-winning record producers Rick Rubin and Brendan O’Brien resulted in multi-platinum modern classics by rock icons like Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and Tom Petty. Sharma has overseen countless recording sessions, managed the production process and handled the business side of hundreds of projects in the music industry. Sharma’s career includes tenure at the City National Bank, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Def American Records and general manager of Fifty Seven Records. Sharma helped establish Georgia Music Partners. Serving as its executive director, she led the group’s lobbying efforts in the Georgia General Assembly to ensure that music production used in qualified film and television productions would be eligible for the state’s entertainment tax credits. She has served as an officer for the Board of Governors for The Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter and serves on the advisory board for the University of Georgia’s Music Business Program as well as several other boards. She specializes in strategic partnerships and business development.


Lee Morin, Esq., Music & Entertainment Attorney, Panel Moderator

Lee Morin is principal of MORIN Entertainment Law and sits on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Record Industry Professionals – Atlanta Chapter, since 2015. She represents chiefly independent artists, songwriters, composers, sound designers, session musicians, performers, publishers, label owners, producers, and managers in the music industry. She also works in related industries including film and games. She has led panels for NARIP Atlanta including Music in Games, Producing Hit Songs, Meet the Press, and The Business of EDM: Current & Future Opportunities. A former college radio DJ at WRAS Atlanta, 88.5FM, Lee volunteers with music advocacy group Georgia Music Partners and is an Associate Member of The Recording Academy – Atlanta Chapter.
