Jooliana Kim, Iris® TV

Joo has pursued an active role in music since age five. After years of piano lessons and vocal performance, including singing the National Anthem for football games, Joo attended her first EDM event and decided to focus on the music business. Her first life-changing decision was to earn a B.A. in Journalism with Music Business Certificate from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business.  Joo has interned for Tree Sound Studios, Cueniverse, Tunecore, and Clear Channel Communications’ Power 96.1 F.M. She served as a Brand Ambassador for the Recording Academy®, published recaps for Grammy U events, and inspired the creation of iris®TV, a video channel for leading producer of EDM events, Iris Presents. She has interviewed numerous regional and national artists including Darue, Ying Yang Twins, The Glitch Mob, and Lil’John.  Joo is most in her element on the red carpet, where she assisted B.E.T., E! News, and Entertainment Tonight for the B.E.T. Awards. She is known by her peers as the Giuliana Rancic of EDM, and is a rising star in the EDM scene.

Keiran Neely, Owner, The Music Room

In 1989, the UK rave scene was exploding and Liverpool native, Keiran Neely was hooked on its fresh underground sights and sounds. Shortly thereafter, his family was relocated to the USA. With a modest stack of vinyl records, he landed in suburban Atlanta to find his passion was less than represented – he was culturally and musically stranded. The discovery of a dance music record store and a subsequent pair of Technics 1200s for his 18th birthday were the catalyst for what would become a 20-year labor of love.  DJ Keiran’s first residency was at Loretta’s nightclub. At the tender age of 21, he presided over one of the most diverse dance floors in the city. His contagious sets consisted of a wide variety of genres that kept his talents in high demand. He would go on to be a founding member of the notorious EarthTone Soundsystem, whose West end warehouse parties and free gatherings in Piedmont Park were the stuff of legend. There was also a record label he helped launch, releasing tracks under the moniker Jack Giant. While attending GSU where he graduated with a degree in public relations, he hosted his own radio show, “Spin Cycle”, a retrospective of sorts where education of the roots of the music he loved were the focus of the show.

From 2005 to 2014, Neely changed gears and in partnership with a local up-and-coming chef, opened his first restaurant where there was, of course, a DJ booth. More social and less dance, P’cheen International Bistro & Pub was a city favorite for close to a decade, where the music was as important as the food.

In 2014, returning to his roots, the acquisition of The Music Room in the heart of the Atlanta nightlife district was what would bring it all full circle. Hosting the cream of the city’s DJs and always featuring international talent, the venue is considered one of the best nightlife venues in the area. With a DJ at the helm, the focus is and will always remain solely on the integrity of the music.

Daniel P., Heroes X Villains (HXV), Ultra Music

Recently HXV signed to Ultra Music, one of the world’s premiere electronic music labels. HXV’s first set of releases with the electronic music titan are arriving one by one as monstrously dark and compelling singles, some featuring rap vocals and some simply letting the 808s and snare do the talking. Raised in Atlanta and baptized in bass, HXV (Heroes X Villains) has been an integral part of the evolution of trap, rap, and electronic music for years. HXV is the creative moniker of Daniel P. This Atlanta-based producer/DJ has been collaborating with luminaries such as Mannie Fresh, Metro Boomin and T.I. behind the scenes in Atlanta for years. Now, with the recent hybridization of hip-hop and dance music, HXV sits poised as one of electronic music’s most credible and experienced hip-hop artists, ready to push the boundaries of where bass and beats can take a person mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The HXV sound is born out of a desire to bridge the gap of true Atlanta rap now taking the nation by storm and the more tasteful and dark elements of electronic music. Daniel P. has found a good deal of inspiration and friendship from artists such as Brodinski and Virgil Abloh, as they all look to blend the heaviest, most rebellious elements of rap with minimal, mature, and dark sounds of the electronic underground.
