Top-rated music supervisor Alexandra Nickson is our special guest at this NARIP Music Supervisor Session in LA. Nickson commissions, licenses and places music for Disney. Limited enrollment of 16 people per session guarantees face-time with her, registrants get brief of his CURRENT music needs prior to the session to help them better prepare, a chance to pitch plus immediate feedback from him to YOUR material. ABOUT ALEXANDRA NICKSON
Alexandra currently oversees all of the music for ABC Family and is head of A&R and development for ABC Family’s music side project Persimmon Grove Music. She currently manages the overall music on 9+ original series, as well as music supervises the network’s promos and original
movies. In 2012, Alexandra was chosen as one of the ten recipients of the Game Changer award for the ABC / Disney Television Group. Recent projects include SWITCHED AT BIRTH, BUNHEADS, MELISSA AND JOEY, BABY DADDY, TWISTED, THE FOSTERS, 25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS (featuring The Band Perry) and THE MISTLE-TONES: THE MUSICAL. Alexandra started her career in feature films working in music production at MGM Pictures, where she participated on such films as BE COOL, BEAUTY SHOP, and THE PINK PANTHER. After leaving MGM, Alexandra went on to become a music coordinator at Format and coordinated source music and soundtracks for various films including THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, ATL, EPIC MOVIE, and AUGUST RUSH. After her departure from independent supervision, Alexandra jumped over to DreamWorks Pictures where she helped create the music team that oversaw all of the live action films. Alexandra worked all aspects of music on films such as TROPIC THUNDER, REVOLUTIONARY ROAD, THE KITE RUNNER, TRANSFORMERS, and THE SOLOIST. Alexandra holds a BS in Music Industry from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California.

You get to meet and pitch our guest for current opportunities on the spot, receiving instant feedback as to whether a song or cue is appropriate or not, and most importantly, WHY. This feedback makes better pitches – and ultimately, placements – possible. Participants even have the opportunity to re-work music to better fit a supervisor’s needs.
