Daniel Lir and Bayou Bennett, Dolce Films

The dream team was born on a summer day in 2007 when Bayou Bennett met Daniel Lir at a vegetarian café on the Lower East Side in Manhattan. They started to chat and several veggie dogs in, they fell in love. Soon they formed a formidable writing-directing partnership and the company Dolce Films, now based in Los Angeles. Lending themselves to smart, hip, imaginative and culturally significant comedy, their commercials, music videos and films have garnered prestigious awards. As film makers they strive to create films and projects that audiences will always remember, identify with and want to watch again and again, just like the films of their icons that range from Tim Burton to Federico Fellini to John Hughes. Their motto ‘Let our dream team manifest your dream’ has allowed them to work with some of the highest profile and most influential companies in the industry. Their clients include Adidas, MTV, Nickelodeon, Isaac Hayes Entertainment, P. Diddy, Smashbox Cosmetics, Chase Bank, Island Def Jam, Atlantic Records and many more. They have also discovered talents such as Lea Michelle (‘Glee’, ‘New Years Eve’) and Matt Bennett (‘Victorious’, ‘Bridesmaids’) and worked alongside celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Tennis Champion Andy Roddick; Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin; Oscar De La Renta, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs and others. Currently they are writing and directing a new film called ‘Skating with Saddam’, which being is executive-produced by Doug Claybourne ( ‘War of the Roses’, ‘Rumblefish’, ‘The Fast and the Furious’), as well as co-writing another feature project with Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson.

Sherry Orson, Owner, MCM Songs

Sherry Orson is the founder of MCM Songs USA. Ms. Orson began her career in the music industry with Virgin Music Publishing. From there she moved to Universal Music Group and gained extensive experience in the fields of music publishing and licensing. She most recently worked with Steven Van Zandt representing his publishing company and record label. Companies included among her music placements are KFC, McDonald’s, HBO, Showtime, MTV, NBC, Fox and many others. While she was at Universal, she garnered song placements on musical projects by such artists as Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton, Selena, Babyface, Jessica Simpson and many others. Miss Orson was also responsible for securing the rights to the publishing of million selling artist Kenny Wayne Shepherd. With a passion for developing emerging songwriter/producers, she also signed Marc Nelson (composer for Babyface, Brandy, Tyrese and Toni Braxton), and was responsible for the placement of his arrangements and compositions. Ms. Orson currently runs her own company, MCM Songs USA representing various emerging artists and music catalogs for placement in all forms of media.

Redelia Shaw, Film Maker, Director’s Guild of America Assistant Director

Redelia began working professionally in entertainment in 2002 while completing postgraduate work in Atlanta where she worked as a Development and Production Executive for Point 7 Entertainment. She worked closely with the Production and Development Teams to scout talent, pitch ideas to networks, and develop content. She was also responsible for supervising and coordinating the production of original programming in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Redelia relocated to Los Angeles in 2005 where she worked as a Production and Talent Coordinator for various specials and comedy programming for networks including, BET, TV One and Comedy Central. She even worked on the 2009 Inaugural Neighborhood Ball for President Obama. Redelia was selected to participate in the Director’s Guild of America (DGA) Producer Training Plan and during her 26 months there she worked on various commercial projects including The Office, Heroes, Private Practice, Raising the Bar, Mr. Sunshine, Body of Proof and the most recent release of The Muppet Movie. Currently, Redelia is a DGA 2nd Assistant Director and works on commercial television and film projects and is an adjunct professor at Santa Monica College. Redelia is also producing an independent documentary set in Ghana, Africa, which has been selected for the Film Independent Documentary Lab and The Wexner Center Visiting Artist Lab Studio. She finds time to teach at secondary inner-city schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She strives to use her professional skills as a Creative Media Producer to produce and teach children how to create positive, educational and entertaining projects which are captivating and clever in storytelling and appeal to mainstream audiences by capturing voices reflective of our multicultural global community.
